Step 1: Learn What It Takes to PresentPresentation Criteria:Startup Huddle is designed for early-stage entrepreneurs leading new ventures. Here’s what we look for in a presenter:
- Scalable Business Model
- The business demonstrates the potential and intent to grow.
- Examples: Using technology to scale, expanding geographically, or disrupting traditional models.
- Stage of the Company
- Ideally, the company is 3 years old or younger. Companies between 3-5 years may also apply if they still lack significant customer traction.
- If your application is not accepted, we encourage you to attend and learn from the Startup Huddle experience.
- Impact on the St. Lucian Market
- Businesses should contribute to the St. Lucian economy through job creation or other means of support.
- Open to Local and Global Participants
- While the program primarily supports local entrepreneurs, experienced presenters from other chapters may apply if traveling to Saint Lucia.
Pre-Presentation Requirements:- Application Submission
- Complete the application form for consideration.
- The Review Team will respond to your application.
- Preparation
- If accepted, you’ll receive a presentation date. If the date doesn’t work, coordinate with the Review Team for an alternative.
- Prepare a concise, 6-minute presentation.
- Work with our Coach to refine your presentation beforehand.
- Practice extensively to ensure readiness.
- Event Day Expectations
- Arrive 30 minutes early.
- Presenters requiring travel should familiarize themselves with travel requirements.
Event Format:- 15 mins: Open networking and refreshments
- 3 mins: Opening remarks
- 5 mins: Presentation #1
- 20 mins: Q&A Session #1
- 5 mins: Presentation #2
- 20 mins: Q&A Session #2
- 8 mins: Community announcements/surveys
- 2 mins: Closing remarks
- 10 mins: Closing networking
Post-Presentation Feedback:- Receive formal feedback through a survey from the organizers.
- Audience feedback will be shared privately within your company profile.
Step 2: Attend a SessionExperience the program firsthand by attending an event. Meet community organizers and ask questions to better understand Startup Huddle.
Step 3: Give BackAfter presenting, contribute to the Startup Huddle community by:
- Participating: Attend future sessions held on the second Wednesday of every month.
- Mentoring: Guide future presenters through workshops or coaching sessions.
- Referring Startups: Recommend other startups to present.
- Inviting Guests: Share outreach materials with your network to encourage attendance.
- Providing Feedback: Share insights to improve the Startup Huddle experience.
- Hosting a Chapter: Help expand Startup Huddle to your home country if outside Saint Lucia.
- Supporting: Become a financial/in-kind sponsor of Startup Huddle St. Lucia.
